I really want a full side fringe and choppy layers but i have curly hair?

Q& A : I naturally have really curly that gets hard to control at times, however i am saving up for a pair of ghd’s as i have heard they are amazing at styling hair quick and easy for mornings etc especially with my hair.
For the past few month i have been craving for a change! I’m sick of my curly hair all the time that i can do nothing with.
I really like the idea of getting a full side fringe cut in, with short, choppy layers but still keeping my long length.
How does this sound? I just want peoples opinions of what i am planning on having done when i purchase some ghd’s, thank you so much.

Also, thinking realistically, do you think i would be able to manage this big jump with my hair? If you have ever done anything similar, meaning opted for a completely different hairstyle, how long approx did it take you to get ready on a morning before school/work etc.
