Q& A : I naturally have really curly that gets hard to control at times, however i am saving up for a pair of ghd’s as i have heard they are amazing at styling hair quick and easy for mornings etc especially with my hair.
For the past few month i have been craving for a change! I’m sick of my curly hair all the time that i can do nothing with.
I really like the idea of getting a full side fringe cut in, with short, choppy layers but still keeping my long length.
How does this sound? I just want peoples opinions of what i am planning on having done when i purchase some ghd’s, thank you so much.
Also, thinking realistically, do you think i would be able to manage this big jump with my hair? If you have ever done anything similar, meaning opted for a completely different hairstyle, how long approx did it take you to get ready on a morning before school/work etc.
Again, thanks

fringes on curls can be disastrous …
ill suggest consult a hairdresser or something before you take any step
I used to have VERY BIG CURLY HAIR!
like honestly and i went from that to the complete opposite scene kid choppy layer haircut
you don’t need ghd’s trust me.. if you want to keep ur hair straight you need a hair dryer and any old hair straighteners will do.. obviously not TOO cheap but mine get hot enough if your hair is very thick try using olive oil on it.. might sound weird but it makes it easier to straighten and thinner.. but only the tiniest bit like a pea sized amount it’s also good for your hair!

bare in mine the curly hair was about 3 years ago + LOL
I have the same type of hair as you, one day I just thought, well it’s only hair, it grows, so I went and got really short layers and a side fringe.
It takes about 40 minutes to straighten, I do it at night and then touch it up in the morning. It looks fine, even with my £40 Babyliss straighteners, so go for it:)
Make sure you ask for it to be thinned out though, I found that helped alot.
I did exactly what you did, i think you will find that when you cut layers in your hair the curls will become a lot tighter with a lot more volume. my hair when it was cut was heaps easier to style because it wasn’t as thick as before so i just washed it and slept on it to dry. i think the only problems with doing this is it you get a fringe you will have to make sure you stock up on hairspray and make sure your fringe is either blow-dried or styled properly with a ghd, if your hair is really curly it will always have to be done, if its only sort-of curly then you could probably get away with brushing and hair spraying it. if your going to work or school and need your hair up then it could be hard with lots of shorter layers, styles like high pony tails and braids seem to do the trick with getting all the hair in and neat. if you straighten your hair before school after just being washed then it might take about 15-40 minutes depending how thick/long your hair is. mine was fairly long and thick and if i wore my hair out it took about half an hour all up, but once you get the hang of it you will get better at doing it faster. good luck!
i thank god for Hair straighteners
i also have curly hair, i have GHD’s
You should just do a chemical straightening in a hair salon and it lasts longer
curly hair with layers work great,
you can get a fringe, but you may need to strighten it
hope this helped
